kerosene meant for public distribution system (PDS) wwere seized near Khallikote in Ganjam district when it was being transported illegally, police said today.
"We have seized a jeep laden with the kerosene barrels during patrolling yesterday," they said.
The driver of the vehicle Aditya Patnaik of Barkul in the district was arrested as he has no valid documents for transportation of the kerosene.
Though the exact location from where the kerosene was lifted was not known, preliminary inquiry showed it was being transported from Purushottampur to Barkula.
Last month, police had seized around 3400 liters of kerosene contained in 17 barrels from a house at Muzagarh in Bhanjanagar area in the district.
