The 37-year-old actor/comedian is in negotiation stage to take the role of the white-bearded figure on Christmas Eve in the upcoming comedy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Rob Burnett is penning the screenplay based on an original idea by Scott Rosenberg. A director has yet to be announced.
"Dashing Through the Snow" revolves around a divorced New York City cop who is a workaholic and has a strained relationship with his son. Santa Claus (Hart) is the only one who can help him believe in Christmas magic and may be able to repair the father-son relationship.
