Khichri Mela at Gorakhnath temple to begin on Jan 15

The month-long Khichri Mela will start on January 15 this year, on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, at the famous Guru Gorakhnath temple here, temple sources today said.
Yogi Adityanath, BJP MP and successor to the Gorakhnath peeth, said, "The sun is entering the Makar rashi at the night of January 14, so the festival of Khichri will be celebrated from the next morning."
In view of the fair, CCTV cameras, watch towers and adequate police arrangements have been put in place on the temple premises, he said, adding that proper arrangements have been made for comfortable stay of devotees keeping in view of the severe cold wave.

The All India Radio would air a commentary on the Khichri Mela from 6 AM on January 15.
