Kidnapped 17-year-old boy found murdered

A 17-year-old boy who was kidnapped for Rs 20 lakh ransom allegedly by his classmate and accused's cousin was found murdered today in Karnal, police said.
The accused, aged 19 years and 22 years, were arrested today after the boy's body was recovered from near a canal in Karnal, said Karnal SP Pankaj Nain.
"The victim, a Class XII student from Nilokheri, was kidnapped on Thursday evening for Rs 20 lakh ransom," he said, adding investigation is under progress.
He said the body bore injuries from a sharp-edged weapon.
The victim's family had met Nain today to trace the boy. Shortly after which the recovery was made.
The victim had gone to Karnal on Thursday, but did not return till evening. When his family called on his mobile phone, it was received by someone else who threatened to kill him if the ransom was not paid, the SP added.
