Kidney racket: One more accused arrested

Another accused in a kidney transplant racket unearthed recently Uttarakhand was arrested, taking the total number of arrests to 10, the police said today.
Shrinivas Chauhan, who assisted "doctors" in conducting the transplant surgery on donors besides doing X-rays, was arrested late last night from Chandrabhaga area of Rishikesh, they said.
The arrest of Chauhan takes the number of people arrested in connection with the racket to 10, including racket kingpin Amit Raut, his brother Jivan, a nurse named Sarla, Raut's driver Billu, Rajiv Chaudhary who ran the hospital, his wife Anupama.
However, four more accused, including Raut's son Akshay, are still at large, they said, adding the police teams are searching for them at different places.
The racket was busted on September 11 in Gangotri Charitable Hospital in Lal Tappar area of rural Dehradun.
