Minister of State for Forests Bhaskar Jadhav made this announcement in the Legislative Council here.
"Rs 1 lakh would be given as immediate aid, while Rs 4 lakh would be kept as a deposit in the name of the victims' family," he said.
The minister further said that Rs 4 lakh would be given to a person rendered permanently disabled in a wild animal attack and Rs 1 lakh to those who get seriously injured.
Even though the state government issued a government resolution (GR) on March 30, the aid would come into effect retrospectively from January 1, Jadhav said.
