Former Jharkhand minister and Congress leader Radhakrishna Kishore today resigned from the party, alleging there was no democracy left in the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee.
"I have faxed my resignation letter to JPCC president Sukhdeo Bhagat. There is no democracy in the Congress," Kishore told a press conference here.
He is the brother-in-law of former Jharkhand police chief V D Ram, who won the Palamau seat on BJP ticket in the recently held Lok Sabha elections.
Kishore was the Drinking Water and Sanitation minister in the Arjun Munda-headed government in 2005 for a month before resigning to make way for the then JD(U) president Jaleshwar Mahto in the Munda cabinet.
Kishore was Congress MLA Chhatarpur constituency from 1980 to 1990 before losing it in 2000.
Kishore quit the Congress and joined the Janata Dal U) and retained the seat in 2005.
He again returned to Congress after losing the 2009 assembly polls.
Asked about his future plan, Kishore said he would discuss with his supporters on it.
