"The activities of KLO militants have gone up in Jalpaiguri district recently. We have been keeping a close watch on their activities," Sukna-based Trishakti Corps Commander, Lt Gen KJ Singh told mediapersons.
Singh was at a free health check camp organised by Army at a place near Indo-Bhutan border.
Recently the subversive activities of KLO has gone up in areas near Jalpaiguri and Kumargram areas of the district.
Lt Gen Singh also said that Army has been taking adequate steps so that the poor people of the area, who largely comprise farmers and tea garden workers, do not fall prey to the lure of the militants and are not misguided by them.
