The rules to take NOCs for carrying out building construction plans near defence establishments in Maidan and Ballygunje area have now been scaled down to 10 metres distance by the defence authorities from previously stipulated 500 metres, following the intervention of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee with Centre, the Mayor, who also holds the Fire Services portfolio, claimed.
He said hence a number of building plans, within 500 metres distance from the defence establishment, will now be fast tracked and the KMC can mobilise Rs 100 crore - Rs 150 crore as revenue.
