The counsel representing Zeliang and the petitioners Maziezokho Nisa and K K Kulimbe, submitted written arguments before Justice M R Pathak who then reserved his judgement.
The petitioners had on August 18 challenged in HC the July 29 order of the lower court which dismissed the cases on Zeliang's educational qaulification.
The petitioners filed a criminal revision petition before the Kohima Bench of the high court claiming that they were within the limitation period as per the high court and Supreme Court orders.
The judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) of Peren had on July 19 dismissed a complaint against the alleged offence punishable under Section 125A of the Representation of People Act, 1951, purported to have been committed by T R Zeliang while filing his educational affidavit for 2013 state polls, holding that the petitioners were too late in filing the petition before the court.
