"We are not shutting the units but abiding with the pollution norms, we are modernising those to keep them running," state Power Minister Sovandeb Chattopadhayay said.
KTPP has six units of 210MW each (total 1260MW) and of which only three units are running generating 467MW.
"Unit-I has received clearance and running, while the second rennovated unit will come on trial from September. The third had been sent for complete overhaul," a KTPP senior official told PTI.
