Kolkata ISL team to announce marquee player, coach on Jul 7

A former coach of Atletico Madrid will be named the marquee manager of the Kolkata franchise of the upcoming Indian Super League in a function at the state secretariat on July 7.
Atletico de Kolkata will also unveil its marquee player in the presence of chief minister Mamata Banerjee at the Nabanna (state secretariat), a source said today.
"We were awaiting a green signal from the CM and everything was finalised today. Both the marquee manager and player would be present at the function scheduled at 1pm," the source added.
A formal invitation would be sent out tomorrow as the Kolkata franchise has made all the arrangements for the function on the ground floor of the 14-floor iconic building.

The ISL Kolkata team is co-owned by a heavyweight consortium of former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly, Harshavardhan Neotia of Ambuja Neotia Group, Sanjeev Goenka of RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, stock broker Utsav Parekh and La Liga champions Atletico Madrid.
Supported by All India Football Federation, the league is co-promoted by the IMG-Reliance and Star India and is tentatively scheduled to be held from September 19 to November 30.
