"The Metro Railway will get delivery of 13 air conditioned rakes starting from June, 2017. The rakes from Daliyan in China will have coaches with ultra-modern facilities," Metro spokesperson Indrani Banerjee said here.
The country's first underground railway will enhance its services from 278 to 300 services daily between Dum Dum and Tollygunge from August 1 this year, Banerjee said.
"These services will be introduced during evening peak hours," she said, adding, "At present the frequency of trains is eight minutes during evening peak hours which will come down to six minutes."
At present the facility is available at Park Street and Maidan stations.
She also said mobile connectivity inside the tunnels is expected to be provided before this year's Durga Puja in early October.
