According to information received here, the expedition led by Pradip Sahoo along with Ang Dorjee Sherpa and Phurba Sherpa reached the summit of Mt Jongsong through a new route yesterday morning.
This was the third expedition to the peak with the first being by an international team in 1930, followed by another by the Indian Army in 1983.
The expedition to Mt Dome Khang was the first Indian ascent with Rajiv Mondal and Dawa Sherpa making it on Saturday.
Dome Khang was first climbed by a Spanish team in 2009.
Kolkata secretary of the club, Dr Roopamanjori Biswas said the expedition set out on September 9 and set up five camps beyond base camp before reaching the summit of both the peaks.
Other members of the team were Debaraj Dutta, Biplab Banerjee, Vikram Chatterjee and Debabrata Ghosh.
All the members are on their way back, informed Dr Biswas.
