Konkan railway to promote local cuisine

Konkan Railway has decided to promote the sale of local delicacies at its catering stalls in various stations in the region.
The move was initiated on the advice of Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu, the Railway said in a release. As per the decision, Konkan products like 'Konkani Meva' would be put on sale in railway stalls.
The Minister has also directed that exclusive stalls and restaurants be opened at major stations to serve Konkani cuisine items, the release said, adding that an exclusive catering stall selling Konkani items would come up at Ratnagiri station soon.
