Before leaving for Kolar, KPCC President G Parameshwar told reporters that people were "disgusted" with BJP's misrule and desperately craved for a change.
"They are looking at Congress to bring in change," he claimed.
Parameshwar alleged BJP which came to power in 2008 had not fulfilled its various promises made in its election manifesto and failed to give a good governance.
"Padayatras will be held from Koodalasangama, Basava Kalyanaand, Mysore to create awareness among the public about the failures of the BJP government," he said.
Opposition leader in Assembly Siddaramaiah said people were disappointed with the government for not spending even 50 per cent of the budget allocation.
Siddaramaiah said the credit for according special status to backward Hyberabad-Karnataka region should go to Congress.
