The high-performing Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE)-100 index fell by 1,023.94 points on Monday to get the financial week off to a panicky note.
The loss apparently came after rumours that government was planning to investigate various brokers.
On the opening day of the week amid rumours of various brokers being investigated, the index, which ended in the red four times out of five in the previous week, closed at 32,506.36 points, registering a decrease of 3.05 per cent or 1,023.94 points.
Overall, shares of 347 companies were traded on Monday with 300 ending lower, while 14 remained unchanged.
