Jung held a review meeting, that was attended by the Delhi Chief Secretary, Health department Secretary, DDA Vice Chairman, heads of all the civic bodies, and Chief Medical Director of Northern Railways among others.
He directed the health department to ensure that hospitals, clinics and laboratories do not turn away any critically ill dengue patient and the municipal agencies to mount full scale efforts for the control of the mosquito-borne disease through "source reduction".
The L-G asked them to follow a targeted approach, based on pockets of high incidence. He also directed them to follow a roster for checking breeding of larvae and to carry out planned fumigation.
Jung directed the DDA to take special care of construction sites to check breeding of mosquito larvae, particularly at construction sites, parks and open spaces. He also directed the Northern Railway to carry out its anti-larval spray around the 150 km tracks on a constant basis.
