L&T wins orders worth Rs 1,283 crore in July, August

Orders were bagged by Water and Renewable Energy business segment of L&T Construction

Construction major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today said it has bagged new orders worth Rs 1,283 crore in water infrastructure and renewable energy sectors in the country in July and August.

The orders were bagged by Water and Renewable Energy business segment of L&T Construction.

"The Water Supply & Distribution Business along with its joint venture partner NCC Ltd has secured a major order from Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam for the Japan International Cooperation Agency-assisted water supply package," the company said in a statement.

The scope involves construction of two parallel 2,100 mm diameter steel gravity mains in the city and the total value of order for this joint venture is Rs 745 crore out of which L&T's share is Rs 410 crore.

In the waste water business, repeat orders have been received from Mohali Area Development Authority and Haryana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation for construction of water and waste water infrastructure facilities at an upcoming IT city at Mohali, Punjab and industrial estates around Rohtak in Haryana, it said.

The Industrial Water System business of the company has received a turnkey order from a private player for the construction of a common effluent treatment plant based on sequential batch reactor technology in Punjab, it added.

The Water and Renewable Energy business caters to turnkey infrastructure projects, including water supply and distribution, waste water treatment plants and lift irrigation systems.

L&T is a USD 14.3 billion technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services conglomerate with global presence.

The shares of the company were trading 0.79 per cent up at Rs 1,544 apiece during afternoon trade on the BSE.
