The CBI said that it registered cases against six Rajya Sabha members and former members in the LTC Scam.
Lalhming Liana, who is now in Aizawl, told PTI that the allegations against him must be due to misunderstanding of facts.
"A DIG of the CBI called me from Delhi and I replied that there must be some misunderstanding," he said.
He said that he informed the CBI officials that he had no objection to the proposed raids on his Delhi residence as he had nothing to hide.
"I availed free travel facilities permitted for us and I have never claimed any travel expenses unless I actually travelled," he said.
Lalhming Liana's second term would expire on July 18 and the election for the new Rajya Sabha member from the state would be held on June 19.
