"Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar have come together due to their selfish interests. It's an incompatible marriage. It will not last long or make any impact in the elections," Yadav, also Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation, told PTI.
Ram Kripal Yadav used to be a close aide of Prasad and known as the "Hanuman" of the RJD chief for remaining by his side in good and bad times. He had rebelled to join BJP just before Lok Sabha polls last year.
He asserted that the BJP will fill the void in the coming Assembly elections.
The BJP leader said the alliance was formed after the much hyped merger of Janata Parivar failed and permutations and combinations among JD (U), RJD, Congress and other parties had been doing the rounds.
"All these parties have always fought among themselves. They have grouped together as they had no courage left to face the BJP after the drubbing they got in the Lok Sabha polls," the 58-year-old leader said.
"It is for sure that both the leaders and their supporters will pull each other back. This will continue for a few months and they will ensure the defeat of each other's candidates in Assembly elections," he said.
Criticising the JD(U) rule supported by RJD, Congress and CPI in the state, Yadav poked fun at the "Badhta Bihar" (Bihar marching ahead) slogan and said it was actually a scenario of "Bigadta Bihar" (Bihar going astray).
