Acting on a tip-off, sleuths of Commissioner's Task Force (West Zone) apprehended four accused persons -- Mohd Kaleemuddin, Mohd Ismail, Mir Abrar Ali and S Shiva Charan, on charge of preparing fake educational certificates, a release issued by city police said.
They were arrested from a house in Chandrayangutta area here and were preparing certificates of SSC, Intermediate, Degree, Engineering etc., of various universities like Osmania, JNTU, Andhra, SSC, Board of Intermediate etc, it said.
128 fake certificates, 75 stamps of various universities and other incriminating material has been seized from their possession, it added.
The accused were also issuing fake birth certificates, fake notaries, fake attestations to needy customers. So far they have sold fake educational certificates to nearly 1000 persons. Investigation is going on to trace out the beneficiaries, it said.
