BJP today hit out at Lalu Prasad and dubbed him "mentally disturbed" after the RJD supremo credited his wife Rabri Devi with making the RSS shed its trademark khaki shorts and opt for brown trousers.
Union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy said Prasad's remarks should not be taken seriously because he was "under pressure" in Bihar.
"Lalu's remarks cannot be taken seriously. He is enjoying there (in Bihar) with Nitish Kumar. Recently someone mentioned that he (Lalu) is like a four-legged throne on which Nitish Kumar is sitting. Therefore, there is a lot of pressure on him these days. He (Lalu) is mentally disturbed," he said.
Rudy, who hails from Bihar and is the Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge), said he is in power in Bihar due to the prevailing situation and there is no need to comment much on his views.
Prasad had on twitter said yesterday, "We forced RSS to wear trouser. Rabri Devi had rightly said that they (RSS men) do not have wisdom. Elderly cadres roam freely wearing half pant without shame."
Rudy also condemned the killing of a BJP worker in Kunnoor in Kerala and blamed the ruling CPI-M regime there for the "rising atrocities" against BJP and RSS workers in the state. He also termed the matter as one of grave concerns.
"This is something which has been happening in Kerala for a very long time. In the state of Kerala, BJP has been suffering, the RSS has been suffering and it is said that the of present government (in Kerala) has been attacking the supporters of the BJP and the RSS.
"They are newly-elected (Kerala state government) but they should see that there is no violence there and a full investigation is done in the incident which has happened now," he said.
A 25-year-old BJP worker was today hacked to death allegedly by CPI(M) activists in the home town of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the politically sensitive Kannur district, less than 48 hours after the murder of a Marxist member.
