Land deal allegations against Sukhu will be looked into: HP CM

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said BJP's land deal allegations against HPCC chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu even as the state Congress president dared former chief minister P K Dhumal to prove the allegations against him or retire from politics.
The Chief Minister, who was at Hamirpur, home district of Sukkhu, to attend a function, told mediapersons that the government would look into the matter and verify the facts.
Meanwhile, Sukhu lashed out at former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal for levelling false allegations against him on issue of land purchase and challenged him to prove these allegations or take retirement from active politics.

"It does not behove a man of stature of Dhumal, who was chief minister for 10 years, to resort to such petty lies without verifying the facts from Revenue Department or checking the affidavits filed by me at the time of Assembly polls in 2007 and 2012," he said.
"The details given in the affidavits are true and I have only 250 kanal ancestral and purchased land and do not own any other land.
"If Dhumal has knowledge of details of any other land possessed by me, he is free to seek judicial or CBI probe," he said.

"Dhumal should explain where is the land that had been illegally occupied by me and if it was so, why he did not file a complaint with Lokayukta or police," Sukhu said.

Dismissing the allegations that he was shielding mining mafia, the HPCC chief said the allegations are "false and malicious" and asserted that no member of his family owned any stone crusher.
He claimed that a BJP leader of the Hamirpur district owned three stone crushers.
Sukhu said he would soon file a defamation case against the BJP leaders leveling baseless charges to tarnish his image.
