Land recommended for 11 industries in Odisha

The State Level Land Allotment Committee of Odisha today recommended land for at least 11 medium and small scale industries including an ITC project of a mega food park in Khurda district at an investment of Rs 470 crore, officials said.
The committee meeting chaired by Chief Secretary G C Pati also approved the expansion of SMS India Pvt Ltd which would set up a steel equipment manufacturing unit in the same district. While the committee recommended 30 acres of land for the ITC project, the state government was suggested to provide 14 acres of land to SMS.
Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco) Chairman-cum-Managing Director Vishal Dev said, "ITC has a proposal to invest Rs 470 crore in the project."

Earlier in January this year, a team of ITC had held discussions with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Secretary in this regard and made a presentation before him on the project, they said.
