Acting on a tip-off, security personnel comprising of District Armed Police (DAP) and CRPF during a long-range patrol in the naxal-hit areas launched a massive search in Maheshduba and recovered a landmine weighing about 10 kg, said Superintendent of Police (Rural), Shailendra Kumar Sinha.
Sinha said the landmine was planted under a culvert, which was recovered and defused by the bomb disposal squad.
Asked about the two-day bandh called by the ultra outfit, the officer said the district administration has been geared up to meet any eventuality.
