The Mumbai Goa Highway was today closed for a brief period following fresh landslides at Parshuram ghat near Chilpun in Ratnagiri district, police said.
However, one way traffic was resumed on the Highway within an hour after debris were removed, an official of Maharashtra Highway Police said.
This is for the third time the ghat (a zig-zag road passing through the mountains) was closed during the last two days due to heavy rainfall, he said.
Several landslides also occurred on the Kumbharli ghat which connects the coastal Konkan region and Pune, the official added.
