Former Test captain Rashid Latif could get the job of the head of Pakistan Cricket Board's anti-corruption and security unit, according to sources.
Reliable sources in the PCB said that Latif was due to meet the Board Chairman Najam Sethi this week to discuss the position.
"The Board is keen to involve Latif and use his expertise in some capacity and the former captain himself has expressed interest in heading a anti-corruption unit," a source said.
The source said Latif was keen on heading the anti-corruption unit which would not only monitor domestic matches but also international matches of the Pakistan team.
"Latif was also told he could head the domestic cricket operations in the board but he has shown interest in the other job," the source added.
Sethi has said that he wants to use the expertise of well meaning former players to improve the working of the Board and Pakistan cricket.
Latif has in the past been very vocal about corruption issues and in 1994, he and Basit Ali announced a premature retirement while on tour to South Africa to bring to the fore the menace of match fixing by some players in Pakistan team.
