Law & order situation improving in UP: DGP

Uttar Pradesh DGP OP Singh today said the law and order situation in the state had improved and police had intensified a crackdown on wanted criminals.
"The law and order situation in UP is much better...Wanted criminals are being nabbed. We have neutralised a few criminals in self defence," he told reporters.
"We have switched to aggressive policing to discourage criminals and anti-social elements...Officers have been asked to lead from the front and tighten the noose around lawbreakers," he said.
On the Noida encounter, the DGP said: "According to a preliminary inquiry, the sub inspector and the injured person were friends and it was not an encounter.
