Lead futures traded higher by 0.76 per cent at Rs 152 per kg in futures trade today as participants built up fresh positions amid pick up in domestic demand.

Lead for delivery in May contracts was trading higher by Rs 1.15, or 0.76 per cent, at Rs 152 per kg in 9 lots at the Multi Commodity Exchange.

The metal for delivery in April also rose by Rs 1.10 to trade at Rs 151.35 per kg in a business volume of 436 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in lead futures to raising of bets by participants, driven by pick up in demand from battery-makers at the spot market.
