Lead futures shed 0.62%, hurt by muted demand
Press Trust of India New Delhi Lead prices slipped 0.62 per cent to Rs 112.50 per kg in futures trade today due to sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market amid a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery this month fell 70 paise, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 112.50 per kg in a business turnover of 446 lots.
On similar lines, the metal for delivery in October was also trading 55 paise, or 0.48 per cent, lower at Rs 113.60 per kg in a business turnover of 16 lots.
According to analysts, low demand from battery-makers in the spot market, a weak trend in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange and weak data deepening concerns of the China slowdown kept pressure on lead futures here.
