Lead futures shed 0.67%, hurt by muted demand
Press Trust of India New Delhi Lead prices slipped 0.67 per cent to Rs 125.75 per kg in futures trade today due to sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market amid a weak trend in base metals overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in current month fell 85 paise, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 125.75 per kg, in a business turnover of 224 lots.
Metal for delivery in October month contracts also fellby a similar margin to trade at Rs 126.40 per kg, in a business turnover of 7 lots.
According to analysts, low demand from battery-makers in the spot market, and weaness in the base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange kept pressure on lead futures.
