Lecturer, 4 engineering students held for sexual harassment

A lecturer and four students of a local engineering college were arrested today for alleged sexual harassment of a girl student, police said.
The students, studying in second year BTech at Ideal College of Engineering, and the lecturer were taken into custody following a complaint lodged by the girl, Sub-Inspector M Sekhar Babu said.
Babu, quoting from the complaint, said the five operated as a group and subjected the girl, also studying in BTech second year, to sexual harassment.
They also threatened to kidnap and molest the girl and reminded that she will face the same fate as the December 2012 Delhi gangrape victim if she did not follow their orders, the SI said.

The lecturer, Satyavara Deepak (30), and students - Gudala Srinivas (19), Motupalli Rohit Mehar (20), Koppula Vinaya Babu and Palivela Venkatesh (both 21)- will be produced before a court here tomorrow for remand, he added.
