Chinese tech firm LeEco today entered the TV panel segment in India by launching its Super3 range of UHD televisions and it aims to grab the number one slot in online space by end of the year.
Super3 series Ecosystem TV, which runs on Android 5, will be initially sold through e-commerce platforms like Flipkart and company's own platform LeMall.
"Our goal is to be the number brand in online space by the end of this year and eventually we want to be among top three to four brands in the country," said LeEco Technology India COO Atul Jain.
The company would start pre-sales on both platforms from August 10 to 12.
LeEco also plans to hit brick & mortar format in 3-4 months and would have a pan India presence in six months.
"We would go to all big metro markets and tier II places. Wherever there is a potential user in large screen and the contents," Jain added.
When asked whether the company would be able to replicate its success in handsets to its TV segment, he said: "Both would follow each other and support each other as our one happy LeEco phone customers would go for Super3 TV."
LeEco, which had entered the Indian smartphone market earlier this year, has sold seven lakh units and is aiming to touch 10 lakh by the end of August.
On expected sales number, he said: "We would have to wait and see how the response comes".
LeEco, which had last month acquired the US TV maker VIZIO in a USD 2 billion deal, is also planning to manufacture its mobile handsets in India.
"There is plan to make mobile phones in India under Make- in-India programme. We would announce about it in third quarter," he added
The company has launched three models in Super3 series -- Super3 X55, Super3 X65 and Super3 Max65 -- ranging from Rs 59,790 to Rs 149,790 and has plans to add more models soon.
