CPI-M and CPI will hold a state-wide "hunger strike" on September 1 to oppose the NDA Government's 'wrong economic policies' and also various alleged irregularities in Tamil Nadu.
State secretaries of CPI-M and CPI, G Ramakrishnan and D Pandian, said in a joint statement that the protest was part of the two parties' week-long 'meet the people movement' to condemn the implementation of the Centre's 'wrong economic policies,' and alleged irregularities in Tamil Nadu such as corruption and illegal sand mining.
The two leaders will participate in the 'hunger strike' here. Similar protest will be held across district headquarters, they said.
