Writer-actor Lena Waithe is set to produce comedy "A 40-Year-Old Version", to be directed by Radha Blank.
Blank has also penned the script, which revolves around a black New York playwright who decides to reinvent herself and salvage her art by becoming a rapper at the age of 40.
According to Variety, the film will also feature Peter Kim and hip-hop performer Oswin Benjamin, who is making his feature film acting debut.
Praising Blank as a rare talent, Emmy-winning writer Waithe said, "She's unlike anyone I've ever met - and I wanted to do everything in my power to help get this movie made."
