The leopard was first sighted by the residents of Kalunda village and the NTPC ash pond area in Jarcha, a forest department official said today, adding it has created fear among them.
The movement of the wild cat was captured on the CCTV camera around the NTPC ash mount, also by some villagers on their mobile phones.
Following which, forest department confirmed its presence in the area and set up a trap at the Kalunda village to cage the wild animal, the official said, adding that the leopard could not be trapped till late this evening.
