A leopard that fell into a well at Manthittu village near Anaimalai Tiger Tanctuary was rescued and let into the forest today.
Forest Department officials said the leopard had slipped and fallen into the well last night. The well owner informed the officials of the Tiger Sanctuary, who rushed to the spot and rescued it using a net and released to forests.
Wild animals including gaur, boar and elephants were coming to the farms near the forest in search of water as severe drought conditions prevailed in the hills.
