Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra officials found the animal trapped in one of the cages set in the area this morning.
Forest officials had set four cage-traps with live baits in the area after a woman was killed in a leopard attack on December 6. On December 19, a six years old girl was killed in another attack.
Regional Manager FDCM, GRK Rao said: "It is a young female, around two and half years old, and appears to be healthy. She was taken to the department's Nursery at Moharli, near the entry gate of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. We are yet to ascertain whether she was responsible for the two killings this month. She would be kept under observation for some days.
