In his judgement pronounced yesterday, First Class Additional Sessions Judge Rajendra Prasad Gupta imposed a fine of Rs one lakh on the accused.
According to the prosecution, Kedar, a resident of Bothli village, took the girl to a field in January and raped her there after which she got pregnant.
The victim had narrated the whole episode to her maternal grandmother after which a case was registered against the accused at Bahela police station on May 25 and he was subsequently arrested.
A couple of days ago, the victim gave birth to a baby boy in the district hospital.
