Life term for man for strangulating relative to death
Press Trust of India Chennai A Mahila Court today sentenced to life imprisonment a 28 year-old-film industry photographer who killed his relative two years ago.
The prosecution case was that Mohan, alias Appu, had a relationship with the victim, his close relative.
Her family opposed the marriage, forcing the woman to avoid him. He strangulated her to death on June 23, 2012.
Mohan was nabbed soon after, police said in a release.
The court, while announcing the verdict, also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on him.
