The victim Anil Saha, along with his brother Sunil, were on their way to Dalbhumgarh from Surda on a motorcycle when rain accompanied by lightning struck Ghatsila sub-division this afternoon, Officer In-charge of Dalbhumgarh police station, Md Tanzil said.
Anil was killed instantly while Sunil suffered injuries when the thunderbolt struck the tree they had taken shelter under, the OC said adding the injured was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
