Linking of Delhi-Mumbai high speed rail route with Jaipur, decongestion of Jaipur railway station and construction of a broad gauge shed are among the slew of demands made by Rajyavardhan Rathore, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, during his meeting with Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu here today.
Rathore also sought more train stoppages, construction of underpass and doubling of tracks in his constituency in Rajasthan.
"My collegaue Rathore has attracted my attention towards development of rail network in Rajasthan and also some projects related to his constituency like stoppages, doubling and underpass. We will try to implement them," Prabhu said after the meeting with Rathore.
Rathore represents Jaipur rural constituency in Lok Sabha.
"My constituency is fully dependent on railways and there has been no development of rail network there for many years," Rathore said.
"I have discussed with Railway Minister about the need for connecting Delhi-Mumbai high speed train route with Jaipur. I have also raised the issue of highly congested Jaipur railway station. It needs to be decongested. Sateliite stations are required to decongest Jaipur station. It will also generate jobs," he said.
Rathore also demanded the development of a terminal at Dhankya, underpass at Phulera, stoppages at Kankapura, Naryana and Phulera.
