The untitled project casts Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Anthony Mackie as three old friends who reunite in New York City as part of a Christmas Eve tradition, reported Digital Spy.
Caplan, 32, will portray Gordon-Levitt's on-screen romantic interest Diana.
This will be a reunion for Caplan and Rogen, who will soon star together in the controversial Christmas Day release 'The Interview'.
Jonathan Levine is directing the upcoming holiday film, having previously worked with Rogen and Gordon-Levitt on the critically-acclaimed drama '50/50'.
The untitled Christmas comedy is scheduled to open on December 11, 2015, with production expected to begin later this month.
