Local body poll:SP candidate booked for violation of poll code

A Samajwadi Party candidate for the UP civic polls, slated later this month, has been booked for allegedly violating the model code of conduct in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district, police said today.
According to Station house officer O P Choudhary, Faisal Beg, chairman of Kandhla Nagar Panchayat, allegedly took out procession in Kandhla without permission yesterday.
The police has registered a case against him, he said.
