BJP's loss in three Lok Sabha bypolls shows the growing anti-BJP and anti-Congress sentiment among the common man, Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP B Vinod Kumar said today.

"The results for the bypolls in which the Samajwadi Party candidates won in Gorakhpur and Phulpur (of UP), the RJD took the Araria seat (in Bihar), signals the decline of the national parties and the emergence of regional parties as worthy contenders," Kumar, who represents Karimnagar Lok Sabha constitutency, said in a release here.

At a time when Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is rallying support for an establishment of a non-BJP and non-Congress alternative, such a loss for the ruling BJP and Congress is a "major kick in the shins," he said.

Kumar said now was the time for a confederation of regional political parties to come together and present the common man with a better alternative for the country.

Rao, popularly known as KCR, had recently said a non-Congress and non-BJP front should be formed in the country, as he called for a qualitative change in politics.

He had also announced that he was ready to take on the mantle of leading a political front.

The margin of victory of the regional parties indicates that regional party leaders are more aware of the local issues and better connected with the people there, Kumar said.
