He will be joining the judges' panel as a guest.
For the 11th season of "America's Got Talent", each of the four judges will be assisted by a celebrity to help narrow down the finalists during the upcoming Judge Cuts episodes.
In addition to him joining forces with Cowell, country superstar Reba MCEntire, R&B singer Ne-Yo and comedian George Lopez will also be guest judges on the show.
The Doncaster soccer player has been eager to keep busy after One Direction began their official hiatus in January. He is also rumoured to try out his acting skills as the lead in an upcoming biopic about soccer star Jamie Vardy.
