Low intensity earthquake hits Jamnagar

A low intensity earthquake hit areas near Lalpur taluka of Gujarat's Jamnagar district this morning, state disaster management officials said.
The epicentre of the earthquake, measured at 3.4 on Richter scale, was registered 16 kms north-east of Lalpur town here, which is close to some of India's largest petroleum refinery complexes.
The tremors were felt by locals at around 11.36 AM today, said the officials.
Since it was a low intensity earthquake, no casualty or damage to property was caused by it, they said.
