LS member concerned over attacks on NE students in B'luru

A member in the Lok Sabha today raised the issue of "racial attacks" on students from the North East in Bengaluru and urged the government to take action.
During Zero Hour, Jitendra Chaudhury, a CPI-M member from Tripura, also suggested that a citizen's committee should be set up to address the issue.
Soon after he raised the issue, a BJP member said the Karnataka government was not taking action in this regard. The remarks elicited protests from some Congress members from Karnataka.
In recent times, there have been incidents of students from the North East coming under attack in Bengaluru, a technology hub.

Congress member K Suresh raised concerns over high airfares by airlines operating flights to and from Kerala to the Gulf countries.
Noting that various airlines hiked air ticket prices on these routes especially during festival seasons, Suresh sought the government's intervention in the matter.
BJP member Anurag Thakur asked the government to provide inter-operability of pre-paid payment instruments.
Inter-operability would help people in making various payments, he added.
