Lt. Gen. Jha takes over as IMA Commandant

Lt. Gen. Sanjay Kumar Jha today took over as the 48th Commandant of the prestigious Indian Military Academy (IMA) here.
A highly decorated soldier, Lt. Gen. Jha, an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and IMA, was commissioned into the 17th battalion of the Sikh regiment on Dec 13, 1980.
In an illustrious career spanning more than 36 years, the officer has held various staff, instructional and command appointments.
He has commanded a Rashtriya Rifles battalion, an Assam Rifles sector and a Mountain Division in the northeast.
Lt. Gen. Jha has been bestowed upon a number of awards for his sustained hard work and meritorious service.
